Her Story

From lab benches to boardrooms — and back to the table.

This isn't a resume. It's the story of a woman who kept saying yes to the next hard thing, and learned that faith was the strategy all along.

Portrait of Jessica

I started in biology — pipettes, protocols, and the kind of coursework that teaches you to keep going when nothing is glamorous. I built a career in biotech and loved the science, but I kept finding myself in the meetings where budgets, contracts, and strategy were decided. I wanted to be fluent in that language too.

So I went back to school. An MBA at The Master's University shaped how I think about business as stewardship — profit with integrity, leadership with humility. Then a master's in IT Management at Western Governors University, because technology is no longer a department; it's the infrastructure of every empire being built today.

Along the way I learned finance and management from the inside, and I built in the unglamorous industries: real estate, insurance, government contracting. I've read the fine print. I've been the youngest woman in the room. I've sat with the fear that comes right before you sign your name to something bigger than you.

Today I serve as Chief Operating Officer of JumpLite Tech, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping people gain digital literacy, internships, and job readiness. I'm also a wife — which means I've had to learn, in real time, how ambition and marriage share a calendar and a heart.

Her Empire Now exists because I kept meeting brilliant young women with no one to ask. Not a guru. Not a corporate mentor with a template. Just an honest woman a few seasons ahead. That's what I'm here to be.

    B.S. in Biology

Long nights, hard sciences, and learning that discipline is a spiritual practice as much as an academic one.

A real job in a real lab — and the first time I realized I wanted to understand the business behind the science.

Operating a 501(c)(3) nonprofit running digital literacy workshops, internships, job readiness, and resume building.
